Web Time Wasters!

How was your week, guys? As you read this, I’m winding down a weekend at MaxFunCon with my girl Alex. And tomorrow I’m going to cross multi-day train trip off my New Things List!

Anyway. Links for you!

Giving criticism can be just as hard as getting it. Here’s a great article on how to give meaningful feedback.

Could you live out of an RV with your boyfriend for years at a time?

Never say “she works for me.” always remember that nobody works for you. They work for the job and for themselves and for a million reasons, maaaaybe if you are super awesome you are a tiny reason. but it’s always more accurate to say “we work together.”Oof. This post about Eden’s brother’s suicide is so hard and important and beautifully written.

My girl Justina is ALWAYS trying amazing new things on Instagram. This is no exception.

Deodorant … cream?

Welp, this is one of the best business ideas I’ve seen in ages. Every city needs this!I just started doing block scheduling with my on-retainer clients and I loooove it! Ali does, too.

In order to get to the point where I could let go of working in the evenings and on the weekends I needed to make sure that I was finishing what I needed to finish during the hours I have already set aside for work. I also needed to simply decide that was what I was going to do and then follow-through.

Love it. What if the snark was removed from headlines about women?

My office needs this. STAT.

The best picnic foods!

How cute are these postcards? Answer: extremely cute.

I love Charlie Day! Apparently, I’m not the only one.

I’m not normally into shorts, but I’d make an exception for these.

I drove through Sauk Centre 50+ times while going to college at U of M – Morris and, like a good English major – read Main Street, the novel written about the small town by Nobel-prizing winning Sinclair Lewis. But Lewis didn’t like Sauk Centre and the city didn’t like him. So then what?

“I mean, his books just aren’t all that exciting to modern readers,” Andrea Kerfeld, the executive director of the Sauk Centre Chamber of Commerce. She winced a little with guilt. “Frankly we’d do a lot better with a Brett Favre Museum, something like that. But it’s what we’ve got.”This is not the marriage I want, but this piece is funnnnny and very well-written (if a-hole-y): How to be a model husband.

My cat Putin needs something for all those summer garden parties.

Interesting bit about Sinclair Lewis and Sauk Centre. I grew up in MN so I'm familiar with the connection but not the details behind it, I guess!
