March Meet + Greet!

Each month I like to throw an internet dinner party (without the cocktail wieners and wine spritzers) in which we mill around complimenting each other's outfits and talking about what we're into.  I ask you three questions, answer them myself, then you return the favor.

1. What's your nickname?
With my mom's side of the family, I'm Sarah Beth (my cousin's wife is Sarah Anne), some friends call me SVB, a few call me Von, and my oldest friends call me Sar.

2. What's your go-to so easy/so good recipe?

10 years ago I made this couscous salad by following the recipe on the back of the couscous box. It's so easy and so fresh and every.single.person at the picnic/barbecue/potluck will love it. Done and done.

3. What's your favorite aspect of your appearance?
Is it inappropriate that I think I'm pretty cute? Too bad. That's what I think. I'd say my favorite physical characteristic is my mouth. I've got nice teeth (thanks, Dr. Stein!) and big lips and, somewhat related, I've been told on a few occasions I'm Julia Roberts' "voice twin."  This weekend, I was told that Charlie from 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' is my voice twin. So there's that.

Now you!  And leave links to your Twitter/Pinterest/blog so we can all be friends!

  1. My nickname is Gab - short for Gabrielle, growing up everyone always called me Gabbie, which I still love, but since I went away to college Gab was the one that stuck.

I'm so bad at following recipes (I get too impatient!) so I often make it up as I go along and usually end up with some stir fry/pad thai combo! My Mom has a pretty easy chili recipe that I can remember without having to look at it, so I'll say that.

My favourite aspect of my appearance are my legs. I used to hate my genetically inherited large thighs, but as I've come to love them now. Five years ago I broke my femur, and now that I can run again (better than I did before) it makes me feel so proud of my big legs.

  2. My nickname is usually LJ, otherwise Laurs, Janey or Google (long story).

My go-to recipe for a quick, delicious meal is Jamie Oliver's chicken fajitas - 15 minutes, including making fresh chopped salsa! (http://www.jamieoliver.com/us/foundation/jamies-food-revolution/recipes/CHICKEN_FAJITAS)

My favourite aspect of my appearance would probably be my blue eyes :)

  3. Amanda Young3/12/13, 6:40 AM

My nickname from most of my friends is Panda, though I'm also called Mindy, Moo Moo, and one of my friends calls me Moonbeam.

My go-to recipe is Cajun fish stew, Once the veggies and fish are chopped it just all goes into the pot and I do't have to worry about it!

I like my hair. It is long, and thick and shiny, and people say it reminds them of Pocahontas (the Disney version, we don't get much in the way of Native American history in Australia!)

  4. That is such a sweet idea! Hello SVB :)

My nickname is Ness or Nessi but my bf calls me Pussycat (he got the idea from the movie What's New Pussycat ages ago and it stuck).

My go to recipe (for 2 people) is frying a whole pack of frozen veggies with some whole grain pasta and pesto. It's super fast and easy

I like my hair. It's really curly and fun. Also extremely easy to handle.

Let's be friends :) My blog is http://www.takeonlymemories.com and I'm also on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/vanessalocke

  5. My nickname depends on who I'm talking to - Maggie with family, Magatha with friends, Maggie May with annoying aunts.

I can make an amazing chocolate biscuit cake that is honestly unparalleled . It's a recipe handed down by my mum and will never be shared. It's incredibly chocolately, sticky and not too sweet.

I have a love/hate relationship with my hair but it is still my favourite aspect of my appearance. It's very thick and kinda curly, and when I can get the curls to behave it looks so nice. It's inky black and shoulder length too.

  6. I've never had a nickname! I'm nickname-less.
I'm an Amber-Rose, and a few people call be Ambs (rarely) but never has a nickname stuck. Several have been attempted though, such as El AmBerino, Ambrosia, and Ambelina.

Uuh, I would have to say that it's enchiladas. :)

I like my lips, I have that little cupid's bow thing going on. i also feel that I'm pretty blessed with the natural blondness of my hair. :)

  7. 1. My nickname is Manda (no surprises there :P)

    2. My go-to recipe is broccoli and chicken stir fry, or fried rice. Both are so good and so easy!

    3. My eyes are my best feature by far. They're hazel and I have nice eyelashes :)

  8. Most people just call me by my name, but my close family and friends call me Ash. I wish more people would because I prefer it!

My husband cooks almost all of our meals (I married a keeper, right?), but when I do cook my go-to is baked ziti. My most frequent request for my hubs is beef fried rice though.

I think my smile is my best feature. I've been told that I look friendly before and I'll attribute that to the fact that I'm smiling more often than not. :D

  9. My sister calls me 'Geevers' (I call her J-Dawg, cos we like to be gangsta). We can explain the nickname as my middle name begins with a G, but I think it actually started because Will Smith called Geoffrey the butler 'G' on the Fresh Prince, and for some reason my sister started calling me that. Not that I am in any way her butler.

My go-to recipe to impress is a recipe for meatloaf that my other sister introduced me to. You wrap the whole thing in bacon! Boom.

Favourite aspect of my appearance...I guess my hair. Probably because I've chosen the way it looks, unlike my facial features. Though when I get my braces off, my smile might be bumped to the top of the list.

  10. 1- Katie, I'm really "Katherine," but rarely go by that except on the masthead at work and with people I don't know well.

2-This time of year it's baked paprika chicken from a super old Good Housekeeping Cookbook.

3- I would say my waistline.

  11. Hey there, everybody!

    1. Sometimes my friends call me by my last name, but otherwise, there just isn't that much you can do to "Sarah."

    2. Oh my gosh - super secret, amazing recipe trick that my mom and I discovered... Add 1/4 cup cocoa powder to the chocolate chip cookie recipe on the back of the Tollhouse Chips bag and bake as usual. Turns the cookies into seriously delicious little chocolaty cakes :)

    3. Is it wrong to say my... bosom? For a more PC answer, I really like my eyebrows and smile.

    1. Most people call me Katha, but my family still says Kathi [or rather: "Kaaaaa-diii!"], which I don't like as much.

    2. My favourite food is Pasta with Smoked Salmon (I blogged the recipe here). It's super easy and oh so comforting!

    3. I really like my green eyes and my smile.

  13. What a lovely party we have here! Nice to meet you all (Thanks Sarah!)

    1. The nickname I've heard most since childhood is "Whit". When I have a few too many beers, and decide I'm the world's greatest hip hop dancer/rapper, my friends have been known to refer to my alter ego "Lil' Clappy". I have no shame.

    2. I made the Pioneer Woman's creamy mashed potatoes a few holidays ago, and my friends swear I am an amazing cook. (I am not) If I could have brought them to the party we're having here, I would have and you all would have loved me. :)

    3. I'm proud of my extremely white teeth, and the shape of my body.

  14. 1. My nickname is Kate, Wife, or Toupa. 2 out of the 3 make me laugh.

    2. My go-to recipe is roasted brussel sprouts with onions and pistachios. It's to. die. for.

    3. My favorite aspect of my appearance is my smile. Sometimes I forget how nice it is until I get a compliment and often times I forget how powerful it can be. It can diffuse any situation or brighten someone's day.

  15. 1 - I get "Mol" by some family members, but mostly it's my last name "Toppe" it started in college and stuck. Even my husband calls me by my last name since I didn't chance it when we got married.

2- Living on a farm, I try to use whatever we have on hand. However, I'm a big cheater and make a classic mid-western salad with broccoli slaw, Ramen, and almonds. It's a hit at all the potlucks.

3- Tie between my hair and my smile (totally worth the braces!)

  16. My nickname has always been Jenny O (luckily I married a man with an H-initial last name so I am now Jenny OH) - I mean, it's pretty much my actual name but the added initial makes it roll off the tongue.

I will wow you with my easy version of coq au vin, which involves boneless chicken, sauteed, deglazed with red wine, plop in a can of diced tomatoes and a sprig of rosemary, simmer until you feel good about yourself and swirl in a bit of balsamic, then eat!

I feel that I have very pretty eyes. I also have an outstanding (har) pair of breasts in my opinion.

    2. Gingerbread from the farmer's market, cut fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. Mmmm.

    3. My big, beautiful eyes!

  18. What's your nickname?
I don't have one! When my parents are feeling maudlin, they call me Kerry Jean (first name + middle name), but Kerry is kind of nickname impervious...except in elementary school when it's a whole string of "Scary Kerry", "Hairy Kerry", and so on. But nobody calls me that any more. I think.

    What's your go-to so easy/so good recipe?
Take a fillet of salmon and cut a line down the middle about halfway deep. Slather pesto on top and into the groove. Roast at 200C for 15-20 minutes. HEAVEN. Plus the pink salmon and the dark green pesto always look gorgeous.

What's your favorite aspect of your appearance?
Definitely my hair! It's long and red - a mentor once referred to it as "power hair" which I love.

  19. My nickname is Lala. My mom bestowed me with that name.
Go to recipe is baked cod, probably not healthy but delicious. Butter, cod, paprika, salt and pepper for 15 min in the oven. It tastes like lobstah!
My favorite body part/feature tie between my small hands (not freakishly small just delicate) and my eyes. I inherited big sky blue eyes from my handsome dad!

  20. My name is Maggie, which lends itself to a million nicknames: Magpie, Margie, Maggaro, Magatron, Magatha, Magnum, Mags, and Maggie May (which is what people call me until they come up with a new nickname). As long as it's not Maggot, I'll pretty much respond to anything.

Cranberry quinoa salad. Hands down. I tweaked and perfected a Whole Foods recipe until I got it just how I wanted it, and now I make it every single week. I even wrote down my version for my blog: http://maggiebolson.wordpress.com/2013/03/01/cranberry-quinoa-salad/
Easy, cheap, vegan, stores well, great for lunches!

I'm a runner with legs that naturally start, like, at my armpits. Norwegian genetics and a penchant for exercise have been good to me. I can rock any dress or skirt, and do on a near-daily basis! (jeans, on the other hand, are an absolute nightmare)

  21. 1. I have so many! Almost everyone in my life now calls me Liz because I chose for my work email to be Liz instead of Elizabeth 9 years ago. I regret that, I miss Elizabeth. One friend also calls me Liza, one calls me Lizzie (or Lizzie-poo, depending on the number of pints consumed) and yet another uses Elsbeth. My favorite ever was Betty which took hold at summer camp years ago, but did not translate over to real life.

    2. Veggie tacos. Steam zucchini, onion, and bell peppers. Slap some refried beans on a tortilla, top with steamed veg, and cheese/sour cream/avocado/hot sauce to suit your taste.

    3. My smile. I use my whole face and show off my several-thousand-dollar straightened teeth while I'm at it.

  22. 1) My name is Molly and I've had a variety of nicknames over the course of my life. In middle school I was called George (funny story, but too long to write here).

  23. Love your meet&greets, Sarah! Met some very LOVELY people last month, and I'm looking forward to meeting more!

    1. What's your nickname?
My full name is Kaitlin, but my close family calls me KK. One of my fabulous friends calls me "Kaitertot"--which is by far my favorite! In Costa Rica, my friends called me "Kata" because the a-i combination in my name makes it difficult to pronounce in Spanish. Close friends call me Kait, and my boyfriend calls me "Kitty" (*blush*).

    2. What's your go-to so easy/so good recipe?
Ugh. I am THE WORST cook, so if I'm cooking for you, I'm probably baking. I bake great brownies, and I can also make a DELICIOUS chocolate pie using tofu. (It sounds weird but people love it)

    3. What's your favorite aspect of your appearance?
Well, I used to hate my VERY Roman nose, but then I got my nose pierced and I like it much better now. :-) I've also received some nice comments on my "juicy booty", so that's great. If I had to choose a #1 favorite though, I think I like my calves best. They're strong from running, which is something I'm quite proud of.

    1. I am called Erin May (a hand-me-down from my grandmother, Phyllis May) or Emay pretty often- @emaydavis is even my twitter handle!

    2. Lately I've gotten a lot of compliments on the incredibly easy Cowboy Caviar with chips. It's a crowd pleaser at potlucks and fun to mix in your own additions!

    3. I am pretty proud of my light blue/grey eyes- I have the EXACT same eyes as my grandmother, and they're pretty dern close to my Mom's and youngest brother's eyes, too. I think it's amazing seeing that generational link and knowing there's a part of our ancestors in each of us.

  27. 1. What's your nickname?
My parents named me Rachel with the intention of calling me Ray, but I sat them down at 3 and told them I wasn't having it. I've also been pumpkin head, but right now I don't really have a nickname.

    2. What's your go-to so easy/so good recipe?
I just made it last night, it's Salmon cakes. It's one of the easiest things ever, and get's you two meals/serves two people. Favorite.

    3. What's your favorite aspect of your appearance?
It seems taboo to like yourself, but I really don't have any major qualms about my appearance. My hair is probably my best feature. It's a really cool strawberry blonde color, and it's super long, which means I can try tons of fun styles with it.

  28. 1) My sister called me "Mare Mare" for a while, which eventually evolved into Mermle, but I havent' been called that in centuries. I wonder if I should try to revive it! In college, I chose the handle "dirt" for gaming, and I've been some version of that ever since. I answer to "dirt" just like my real name.

    2) I don't really have a go-to recipe. My husband does most of the cooking in our house, honestly. If it's my turn to cook, we're probably going to have pasta with some kind of simple veggie sauce.

    3) I think I have really expressive eyes and nice lips, but I think the best part of my appearance is the way I present myself overall -- standing up straight, making eye contact and smiling. Looks won't last forever, but smiling and being welcoming never gets old, right?

My go-to easy recipe isn't really a recipe -- just something I throw together to eat a lot. Pasta + olive oil + garlic + veggies + whatever cheese is on hand.

I like my eyes and my tiny hands. :)

  30. 1. My nickname is Janey or Janus, but my brother used to call me Pinga Ponga, because he was a delightful child!

    2. I cook a mean chilli that I have made so many times that it is rather quick and easy now!

    3. I think my favourite part of my body is my eyes; I have had compliments on them before and I can't say that about many bits! I also like my hair; it's too long at the moment, but it's so thick that although I moan about it, a lot of people are envious of it!

And, if we were ever to meet in person, you'd probabably first notice my eyes. Not to brag - but ok, this is what's this is about a little bit, right? - but they are prety magically blue. They also look exactly like my great grandmother's which makes me really happy.

    2. What's your go-to so easy/so good recipe?
10 years ago I made this couscous salad by following the recipe on the back of the couscous box. It's so easy and so fresh and every.single.person at the picnic/barbecue/potluck will love it. Done and done.

    3. I have a few favourite aspects of my appearance... I love my hair, my ears, my nose and my hands. And this is kind of a weird one, because I would totally love to lose some weight right now, but I do appreciate that whenever I gain weight, I gain it proportionately all over my body rather than having it accumulate unflatteringly in just one area. Is that strange? I think it makes me look well-proportioned at any weight and I like that.

  37. Oh my gosh I'm a tool and left Sarah's answers in for #1 & #2. So! Mine! I don't really have a nickname. My real name is Laura and it's not very nickname-able. But my sister and mum sometimes call me Laura Bora.

My favourite easy recipe is pesto pasta with veggies: Cook pasta, add pesto sauce, add chopped artichoke hearts & sundried tomatoes. Boom, done. If I feel like putting in more effort I'll throw in some broiled chicken and/or steamed green beans.

  38. What's your nickname?
Well, my dog Roger’s nickname is a better story. Some idiot cut off his ears flush with his head with a knife and then left him outside tied up in the rain with no food and water. When I rescued him he had terrible mange but his skin has the brindle pattern, so I wanted to name him Raja (like the tiger from Aladdin). I asked one of my students if she liked that for him and she wrinkled up her nose at me and said, “what kind of person would name a dog Roger?” and I said THAT IS MUCH FUNNIER I AM TOTALLY NAMING HIM THAT. My boyfriend calls him Woger Wabbit since he has no ears at all, and he probably thinks Wogerwabbit is his real name.

Quinoa with mixed vegetables and either Chorizo or Italian sausage. Mix it all together and makes for a good meal! I sometimes substitute the sausage and veggies for tuna or salmon, avocado, spring mix, topped with roasted tomatoes

    3. What's your favorite aspect of your appearance?
My legs. I rollerbladed like hell all throughout my teenage years and early 20's, and now snowboard in my late 20's so my legs are killer defined. I gotta say, I look good in short dresses and high heels, except now I wear less heels than I did ten years ago.

  41. Nice to meet you, everyone! I've had lots of fun reading these!

I've had many nicknames over the years but there are a few that have endured. My family and close friends have always called me *Lynnie*, my high-school era friends called me *Belle* or *Mama-T*, and my college era friends called me *Lynnie* or *Lynn-Lynn*

I've got a couple go-to's, food-wise. I make excellent pasta sauces (marinara, bolognese, vodka sauce, etc), I make a great pumpkin soup and I do a really easy/fast roast chicken. I make great chocolate chip bars and for a quick breakfast I do a nice scambled eggs with feta :)

Favorite features: I have beautiful blue eyes, wild but awesome curly brown hair, and I have really nice hands :)

  42. Nickname - Jess, only my family is allowed to call me Jessie.

Best recipe - roasted veggies with hummus, it's surprisingly good for such simple ingredients
    (http://bloginspiredcooking.blogspot.com/2013/02/prep-ahead-roasted-veggie-bowls-with.html)

favorite physical aspect - my somewhat-straight hair is getting curly/wavy as I get older, which is awesome. I've actually got good-looking hair for the first time in my life! It takes less time to style and it still looks good at the end of the day, as opposed to my somewhat-straight hair I used to have.... I used to come home after work and go "ugg, I looked like this all day?!"

  43. 1. What's your nickname?
Leaner! Which is exactly where the name of my blog, Leaner by the Lake, hails from. Eileen isn't a name with too many nicknames and when I was little my parents started calling me "Leaner" and it stuck. The use of this name is always the mark of when an acquaintance has turned into a friend.

    2. What's your go-to so easy/so good recipe?
Hearty & Healthy Vegetarian Chili! It makes a huge batch of delicious comfort food that isn't a calorie bomb. More healthy recipes here if you're so inclined.

    3. What's your favorite aspect of your appearance?
Is it bold to say that I like my face in general? For years I've dealt with body image issues but my face, well I like that quite a bit. I've got a classic look with big brown eyes, a petite nose, and full lips. Thanks for asking such a positive question, btw. It's refreshing to think about something that I like about my appearance, rather than focusing on getting over the mean things I've thought about my body in the past!

  44. Hooray, party! :)

My nickname is Le, short form of Leticia, and it is used by my family and everybody else who likesv me. The bullies from school used to call me Lele, that's why I hate this nickname.

I don't cook very often, but the only recipe I've done several times is the Christmas souffle, with lots of chocolate.

I'm happy with my mouth, too. I'll be happier when I take off the braces, but right now a layer of lipstick does the magic.

  45. Oh man, I've had so many nicknames. Peaches is the most enduring one, followed by various state names: Alabama, Massachusetts, Florida, Virginia, Nebraska (bonus points for guessing my first name!). I've also been called Snow White, Hippy Girl, George, Gigi..

My two signature dishes are mashed potatoes and apple (or other fruit) crisp, although I'm also perfecting a kale salad and homemade mac & cheese. So close to a full meal! (Now time to go through other people's recipes!)

I'm probably most happy with my eyes. Strikingly blue, plus I can apparently glare quite well.

  46. there's only one person that i let shorten my name and that's my little brother. he uses one of the middle syllables that's hard to spell out phonetically. maybe something like "stayzsh." ha.

i have two go-to recipes: slow cooker pulled pork and honey mustard mac & cheese.

as far as features go, i think my favorite is my long legs. it makes it hard to buy jeans, but definitely worth it.

i loved reading all these! i hang out online at www.anastasiaehlers.com where i talk mostly about flowers. i'm anastasiafloral on pinterest and twitter.

    3. I like my overall shape. I'm well proportioned and curvy. I have cute feet. I also like my big eyes. Nice smile. Good hair. Dang, I like my looks more than I thought. :-)

    1. My college friends call me Crush, inspired by my first initial, C, and last name, Rush. My family and close friends from high school call me Cait..simply short for Caitlin.

    2. Carbonara! It sounds so fancy and difficult but it is SO easy and SO delicious! Some olive oil, bacon, onions, and garlic...a little cooked pasta & stir in eggs & parmesean and voila! Carbonara!

    3. My eyes. The super dark green color combined with my insanely long eyelashes results in something very pretty!

  50. 1. My nicknames are all versions of Beth: Bethany, Elizabeth, Bethlehem, and Bethy. When I was living in Romania, my roommates already had a Beth in the house, so they called me "BethWyatt" (all one word) and even now, five years after I left, they still call me that.

    2. I make a mean lasagna with surprise dollops of cream cheese. You would moan through it.

    3. My eyes are my favorite. The first thing my boyfriend ever said to me when we met was "you have really pretty eyes" and that was seven years ago, so it worked.

    1. it's funny when my moms tries to get funny and calls me meligRRRRosa. my name is meli, everyone calls me that.
the women in my family call me flaca (skinny) im not skinny but I guess i was a small fry as a kid, then puberty was delivered overnight in a pizza hot box.. :)

    2. that'd be chocoflan. chocolate cake on the bottom and flan on the top. I've experimented with guava infused flan, and chocolate; it's a hit.

    3. I'd say my eyes, most people remember my eyeliner.
my eyes are kinda big but I do my makeup w/very thick cat eye, many years before amy whinehouse was a star, I mean mine is not as thick, but before she was around people would always ask me how I did so much of it without smearing. I always say, years of practice..haa. I blamed it on my teenage affinity of women in the fellini films, which will continue forever.

  52. Yay! I always love Meet & Greets!

    1) Growing up my parents called me Bunny or Punky. They just stopped a few years ago, although sometimes they slip up. (My dad mostly!) Now my close friends call me Sero (as in serotonin) it started over ten years ago, but it stuck!

    2) I'm not much of a cook, but I can make a badass salad! Also, my husband is known for his green bean casserole. I've tried and failed to make it as amazing as his!

    3) I'm a big fan of my toes and my neck. As I write that I realize it sounds kind of weird, but I do like them! My husband loves my shoulders and back and I'm super proud of that (for some reason?).

I write over at Seriously, Machine?! (http://seriouslymachine.blogspot.com/) and as of right now it's just book reviews, but it will be more later!

  53. Fun!

    1. What's your nickname?
My birth name is actually Anne-Marie, but everyone calls me Ami (Ah-mee). Truth be told it had nothing to do with my name it had to do with my similarity to this character in a Japanese anime show back in middle school, but somehow it stuck and I've adopted it as my own.

    2. What's your go-to so easy/so good recipe?
I found this Chicken tortilla soup recipe when I was trying out the Paleo diet (http://paleomg.com/chicken-tortilla-soup/) but it was so damn good that it's now my go-to even now that I'm not fully Paleo anymore. It's easy and healthy and so full of flavor. Beware though, it's pretty spicy.

    3. What's your favorite aspect of your appearance?
I'm going to have to say my nose. I've got this really distinct dutch girl nose, got it from my dad. I used to hate it, especially when I was getting bullied for having such a big nose, but I've grown to really love that it sets me apart. I can't imagine it any other way.

I chronicle my adventures over at wakeupami.wordpress.com, facebook.com/wakeupamiblog and I'm on twitter, tumblr, and instagram as @heywakeupami. :D

  54. Hey there!

My name tends to be shortened to Becca from Rebecca but occasionally I get called Bec or Becs, usually by my mother. I am thankful to say that I have never been a Becky. It just doesn't suit my personality.

My go to food item would have to be any sort of mac and cheese. I came across a recipe somewhere a while back for homemade mac and cheese. I have since used it with creative license to make your standard mac and cheese with cheddar cheese, I have made it with pepper jack cheese (to the joy of my roommate), and I have even made it into a version of quinoa mac and cheese.

It would probably have to be my hair. Growing up I was never a fan of my overly curly hair that never did what I wanted it to and never looked as put together as my friends. Fast forward a couple of years to college where I fell in love with my hair. I learned to embrace the wild amounts of curls and found a hair stylist who helped me along the way.

You can find me at http://letsseealittleoftheworld.blogspot.com/

  55. My name (Alison) often gets shortened to Al or Ali, but it never seems to stick. I'm still Alison.

My go to easy food item in the winter is this Potato Kale Soup that kind of mimics Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana: http://www.alisonchino.com/2013/02/21/potato-kale-soup/ It's so easy and it feeds our whole family.

My hair, which I used to dislike a lot, but have loved since I got dreadlocks almost five years ago. Never. Looked. Back.

Love the Meet and Greet!! XO

  56. My name is Rachel, but that is a common name and so co-workers and friends often call me "Pixe," as I am petite frame with a pixie cut.
My lazy broke college recipe is pasta, butter, parmesean with mixed veggies.
    I guess I like my small frame/figure best. I feel like a fairy. :-D

  57. Heya! My name is Ashley Tamber...so people call me Ash, Tamber, Tamberine. I actually prefer not to go by Ashley (scarred for life by being 1 of 5 Ashleys in more than one of my classes growing up--in high school I wouldn't even turn around in the hall for "Ashley!!")
My easy recipe is mushroom with rice or couscous and maybe avocado. I cook the mushrooms in a pan with coconut oil, tamari, worcestershire, and hot sauce.
My hair is my favorite part of my appearance. It's long and super curly.

  58. 1. I have a nickname at the camp I volunteer at, but for privacy reasons I am keeping the lid on that. I get irrationally angry when people shorten my name to "Rach" because it sounds like a cat hacking up.

    2. I have lots of recipes 0.0" I think soups are my go-to recipes: faux pho, tomato fennel, squash & borscht. In the summer, it is quinoa tabbouleh.

    3. I love my hair ~ especially now that it is partially pink! I also dig my surgical scar, which peeps out of my shirts ~ and my big eyes & lips :)

  59. Happy March and St. Patty's Day weekend ladies!

I somehow ended up with several nicknames. The ones that stuck are JennBobb, JRo and Red. So, I have red hair and burn like a lobster at least once a year (and yes, I use sunscreen, but seriously, I fry in about 6 minutes). So, that's where Red comes from, and JRo is a play on my first and last name that someone in college started calling me, possibly because of JLo, but can't remember. And then there's JennBobb. I HATED it at first. But on one of those days I was fried, a friend sai I looked like Bob the Tomato from Veggie Tales. And because Jenn has two n's, Bob got two b's and it was high school, so of course it stuck.

My go to recipe is tuna burgers. Super easy, pretty healthy and tastes like home. I blogged the recipe here: http://jenntravel.blogspot.com/2013/02/favorite-foods.html

I'd have to say my hair. As mentioned, it's red. All natural, never died, treated or otherwise adapted. It gets frizzy in humidity and can be a pain to manage sometimes, but there's not a chance I'd change it, other than maybe a new hair cut in the next month or so.

My started as just travel, but since I can't leave the country every week, I expanded to other fun things! jenntravel.blogspot.com, and I'm GFTrib_JRowell on Twitter and Jro822 on Pinterest.

  60. 1. Most of my friends and family members call me Ness, which I like. I also occasionally get called V, but only by a couple of people.

    2. Mug cakes. Mix one egg, 1/4 cup of powdered sugar and 2 teaspoons of cocoa in a mug and microwave for one minute. I don't know how, but it makes the most delicious single-serve chocolate cake.

    3. I like my eyes. They're big and very blue with super-long lashes. I also like my hair, but I do have more of a love-hate relationship with it.

  61. 1. My nickname is Frostie, as in Kelloggs Frosties- it's similar to my actual name :).

    2. Cottage pie is my go to recipe, with plenty of red wine for warming up on cold winter nights!

    3. I'm quite a fan of my curvy bum, it stops me looking just skinny.

My blog is over at: http://frostiesblog.wordpress.com/ and my Pinterest is: http://pinterest.com/kelly_f

    2. Roasted salmon and asparagus is so easy and healthy. Sprinkle salt and pepper on salmon filets and salt pepper and olive oil on trimmed asparagus spears and pop into a 450 degree oven for 10-ish minutes. It can also be done on a grill. It redefines fast food.

    3. I have perfect ears. Ears are totally an underrated body part. People notice when they're bad, but not so much when they're good.
