I want to become a freelance writer

I am currently doing a graduate degree in Sociology, but would love to get into freelance writing. However, as I am coming from a background in social science rather than the classic journalism/communications/English, I am not really sure how to bridge into the field of professional writing. I need to know about Americorps NCCC

My application for NCCC's Fall 2012 program is currently under review, and as the moment of truth of my acceptance/decline approaches, I find myself with more questions/doubts/worries.  I'd like to be able to ask an Alum about their experience, what they brought from home, how they got along with their teammates, how they handled medication prescriptions, and probably a million other things.  Any advice would be much appreciated!

I need an artist to create a comic with

Sometimes inspiration hits me in comic strip form, but since my drawing skills are limited to wonky stick men, I need an artist to create the visuals. Think of it as a series of illustrated thoughts and snippets of conversation, two to three panels, humorous and thoughtful.  It's a purely voluntary, collaborative project. The comic would be featured on my blog and I'm happy for it to be on your site too. I hope for this to be an ongoing thing, putting out a comic once or twice a month, as and when ideas flow. I would be happy to try and put words to your own drawing ideas too if desired. Quilting is so rad and their no better feeling than snuggling up for a good night’s sleep under a quilt made with your own hands!
