November Network of Nice Hookups!

It's time for this month's exercise in karma cleansing!
Here's the deal:

Look through these write ups.  If someone needs help and you can help them - email 'em.  If you see someone who's offering help, and you need that help - email 'em.

And we always, always, always say thank you when someone helps us, right?

I need a hookup!

I need to know about Dreamweaver software
I am looking for help to redesign my website but don’t know how to efficiently use Dreamweaver! I know how I want the website but not how to get there. In return I can offer anything from being a very happy and friendly penpal to proofreading/editing student documents (or any other writing).

I need to talk to people who suffer depression or are close to someone with depression.
My best friend has been diagnosed with severe depression, and she’s both seeing a therapist and on medication, but she doesn’t feel like anything is helping. She also self harms, and claims no one has given her a good reason to stop. If anyone knows information about self harm, depression, or how to help and support someone with it, I’d love to hear from you.

I'd love to meet people in Bozeman, Montana

I just recently moved to Bozeman, Montana with my husband (I'm originally from California & he's originally from Indiana) and well, we're friendless. I'm really excited to explore the area, meet new people and make some friends. I love crafting & artsy stuff, wine, cooking, reading, writing, and long conversation. And since I know the Yes and Yes audience is a spectacular one, I'm looking to you all for some help.

I need to know about bartending

Is there anyone out there who has attended bartending school, or who is a bartender/has bartended in the past, and could give me some helpful tips or advice about how to get started in this line of work?  Please email me!

I'd love to meet people in Montreal

I've recently relocated to Montréal with my French partner and don't know a soul. I'm seven months pregnant, not working and starting to go a bit stir crazy, Betty Draper styles. I need to meet some lady friends! Preferably Anglophone ones (my French is, quite frankly, shocking) any age fom 25 - 35. My professional background is in arts marketing, I'm originally from New Zealand, I love thrift stores, drinking tea, reading Will Self, cooking, nice fonts, and a well-placed Oxford comma. Email me if you live in downtown Montréal and want to meet up. Or if you know someone in Montréal who might fancy a new friend to drink some tea with. I'm quite good fun, actually.

I need help establishing a non-profit.

I am currently an intern at a non-profit that works with redefining beauty and we are looking to make it to a non-profit status within the next few months. We are in the process of raising the money, but need information on exactly what it takes, how much money it costs, and any legal and/or accounting help we can get.  We are really trying to get the ball rolling on this process and we're really excited to spread our positive message all over the world!

I want to start a book club in Melbourne, Australia
I'm passionate about literature, food, culture and feminism, and I'd love to meet some awesome Melbourne people with similar interests. I’ve always wanted to be part of a book club, but struggled to find people who were also interested in getting one going - now's my chance!  Drop me a line if you’re interested – I’d love to hear from you!

I'd like to make a friend in Ann Arbor, MI!
Hi! My name is Marissa, I'm 21 and I moved here a couple months ago to live with my boyfriend who is currently getting his masters at U of M. I haven't really found anyone else to go on adventures with me yet! I'm very much into arts and crafts, sushi, Thursday night television, photography, yoga, planetariums, and dogs. I'd love to meet someone who'll go with me to roller derbies, Necto on Friday nights, midnight Rocky Horror shows, Neo-Pagan rituals, karaoke and services at the Zen Buddhist Temple - and I am very open to suggestion! We can start with something more basic, like coffee maybe?

I need help planing a trip to South America

I'm looking for someone that can tell me about traveling to South America over spring break. I'm a senior in college and would be taking this trip with one other person. I'm looking for suggestions about where to go, where to stay, and most importantly, how to make this affordable. (Suggestions for cheap plane tickets?) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can tell you about attending college while struggling with depression and anxiet
y
I am getting through college with depression and anxiety disabilities and have learned some things along the way about course load, attending class (how to convince yourself to stay out of bed/apartment), talking to professors, figuring out what to do when you are LOW, establishing (and/or reestablishing) social contacts and friends, and staying in touch with/filing paperwork with the disability/counseling office.  I am not a professional and I really think you should see professionals if you are struggling, but sometimes peer support is helpful, too :)

I can tell you about traveling through Spain
I can give advice about traveling alone throughout Spain as a single, vegetarian female with little Spanish-speaking skills. A little specific but who knows maybe someone will benefit from my experience?

especially through the internet. I do that for myself as a yoga teacher with my own website, Facebook, and guest posting.
bettina.shzu@gmail (dot) com

I can tell you how to be a better leader in your university organization

Everything from writing informative, more efficient emails, to (kindly) delegating tasks, to budgeting, sponsorships, and fundraising --I've streamlined it all. Balancing schoolwork and being in charge of a group of your peers can be stressful, but there are many ways make things easier for yourself!

This is such an amazing and wonderful idea! Maybe my hormones are out of wack or something right now, but I seriously teared up reading all of the people willing to help...and just at the sheer notion of this idea. In a world where the internet can sometimes do more harm than good...this is beautiful!
