How was your week, friends? I spent the first half driving across the prairie with my family and the second half working on the 2012 Year in Yes calendar. (Those are the first draft proofs in the above photo!) I also saw Brown Bird perform and my goodness if they're not fantastic! Jangly, joyful Gypsy Americana music - if there is such a thing.

My current obsession is my blog. I've been writing, tweaking the design, tweeting and reading other blogs non stop the last week! It's so much fun!
Also, I'm obsessing over NaNoWriMo, and it hasn't even begun yet!
My current obsession is my mom's so-delicious-it-should-be-illegal chocolate cake and my new bike which I haven't even taken for a spin yet!

I spent two months in South America this summer and experienced Inca Kola. I was skeptical at first but I was hooked after the first sip. I wish I could get it in the States!!! It's even more popular than Coca Cola down there. They serve it on the airplanes!
I LOVE The Red Tent! I read it about four years ago. Sometimes I had to put it down because I was crying too hard to see the pages. It's so beautiful and heart-rending. I hope you enjoy it!
I love the Better Person and the Punk links - amazing! You always post great links in these posts. My current obsession? My vampire fangs! :[ Yay Halloween! xxx
I too am deeply enamoured with The Red Tent and recently bought a new pair of riding boots that I adre and have been wearing every day :)
Thanks so much for the Beauty Redefined shout-out! We are fighting hard to take back beauty and health for every female that is oh so deserving of it. This is not a hopeless fight - it's amazing, and so many people are joining us. Thank you for helping us spread the word. You're fabulous!
I am currently obsessed with the Outlander series, by Diana Gabaldon. My boss let me borrow the first one, and then I borrowed 2 and 3 from the library. Now I'm speed reading the next one, and can't wait to get to the next one!
Also, I loved The Red Tent too! I recently recommended it to someone, and am waiting for them to finish it to talk about it with them. Can't wait! And you've inspired me to check out the message boards and the Recommended Reads.
