Second Chance

I fell in love with Liam Finn entirely by accident. My girl Halley spontaneously invited me to his show at The San Francisco Bathhouse and it was love at first listen. I've listened to this album a gajillion times and every time I hear it, I'm back in Mt. Vic or walking down from the hill from uni or eating breakfast at Fidel's (five dollars if you can spot all the Wellington references!)

What songs remind you of your travels?

Oh, how I love Liam Finn.

Funny, you know his song Gather to the Chapel? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2soIp_3ZCM
I went to the chapel they filmed this last weekend and took some photos http://www.flickr.com/photos/taf/4897285688/

Got all of them, girl! Five dollars please! =p On a side note, Blanket Man has been removed from Courtney Place. He's in the psych ward now. It's just not the same without him.

Never heard of him until now, but I like the song. :)

Hi from New Zealand! Liam is rock'n'roll royalty here, from a fantastic musical background - his Dad and uncle are of 'Split Enz' and 'Crowded House' fame, real iconic NZ stuff. We love him! :)

Damien Rice always reminds me of working in a pub on the coast of England. In the winter we would drink tea in front of a roaring fire, talking about life dreams, painting and writing in journals... It was magical.

ah yes. you HAVE to watch him live on letterman. it's amazing.
This is mine and my fiancées song!
We are even thinking of having it as our wedding song. lol, it will be mad to dance to.

Spotted :) I watched him open for Pearl Jam in Christchurch last November and it was my first exposure to this Finn!!

We all die a little knowing that Blanket Man no longer graces Courtney Place...

Anything by Missy Higgins reminds me of evenings in hostels in Australia. Good times.

Oh Sarah, I loved the Welly references but they did make me homesick. Can't wait to head back for Christmas and wander Cuba Street for trinkets and good coffee! x

Raquel - Blanket Man is gone? He is such a huge part of Wellington though, an icon if you will!
