Can you believe that 2010 is nearly half over?! Where are you going so fast, year? Why don't you take off your jacket, have a cup of coffee and gossip with me about those Housewives of New Jersey?
Though it's only July, The BFF and I are setting our sites on the 2011 'A Year in Yes' calender. We need to get it put together and printed before I leave for India in October!
Here are some changes that we're considering making to the 2011 version:
* lighter colored paper, so you can see the color wash behind the date grid better
* including a few Common Wealth holidays (NZ, I've got your back!)
* sorting out Paypal so you can order multiple calendars at once
* maybe using a heavier paper - but this would make the calendar more expensive to print and ship
And, like last year, we'd love to include you clever, talented people in the process. If you're a photographer, we'd love to oggle your goodies. If you'd like to submit photos for possible use in the calendar, you can tuck them into this flickr group.
We're looking for photos

We're looking for photos
* are horizontally oriented
* have an open, uncluttered composition, so we can put text on top.
And if we use your photo, you get
* photo credit
* three free calendars
* heaps of good karma
What sorts of photos make our hearts flutter? Maybe something along the lines of these pretty little numbers:

We'd love your input, friends! What did you like about the 2010 calendars? What would you change? How do you feel about the changes we're considering?

i think the paper you used for the last one is heavy enough, i was actually impressed that it wasn't thinner like other calendars, this one is so much better to write things on (just marked in all my assignments this week!!) because it doesn't rip so easily.
I'd love to submit a photo so I'll see what I've got, and I know someone that would be perfect for the project, I'll get their sister to put some of their photos on flickr asap
Not a "photographer" but will add some of my faves from my Flickr account to maybe get an Aussie pic in there! ;)

Done - added some fab ones that I took on our South Island Holiday. Man my own country stuns me with its beauty sometimes.
Oh my, I'd love to be a part of this! :D I really enjoyed the 2010 Calendar, so I'm only expecting similar goodness from the 2011. ;)
Also, I added some of my shots to the Flickr group. I'm Anna Raffaella over there too, and in case you end up choosing one of the pics and need a bigger one, say something and I'll send you the huge version! :D
Thank you!
xx
I'd love if you'd put in some of the excellent texts that you post on weekends. I really like those in providing food for thought. Perhaps with a picture after?
Not ordering the 2010 Year in Yes was a major regret...I can't WAIT for 2011!
I really liked the thickness and weight of the calendar. It was perfect. :)
I like the To Do suggestions written on the weekdays, but they make it hard to write in my plans for those days. Could the writing be a little smaller?
If you were a billionaire, it'd be fun to have little opening paper doors, like an Advent calendar. =)
Awesome! I went a little bonkers and added a plethora of pictures...like 65 is the count right now ^^ A very cool idea!
I am so freakin' excited about this calendar. And I don't even buy calendars!! I'll definitely be picking one up though.
How FUN! I didn't get a calendar for this year, but I will definitely pick up the next one! I may even submit some pictures, although these are fairly intimidating. LoL
such an awesome idea! I added to the group, can't wait to see it.
Not adding any pictures but WILL be buying the calendar again, my daughter and I love it =)
Maybe you can make a schedule book -sized calendar too, like a diary. I'd love to buy your calendar but it is too big for me to carry to school everyday (I'm a student)
my bff and i ordered the 2010 calendars for each other this year and LOVE THEM. the only thing i would change is the binding. mine came apart a little bit, and i think a spiral binding might hold it together better. i would totally be willing to pay more for that feature.
I added in some portrait photos but they are big enough that I can crop them down to landscape-ish if you want the photo (I didn't read the whole post haha).
I loved the calendar this year (and not just because my photo was in it)
Last year's calendar itself was lovely, but perhaps the packaging/shipping could be a little more protected. Mine got wet in the mail and the colors bled and pages got wrinkled. Encasing them in stiffer, waterproof envelopes is my vote for next year's calendar! Not exactly what you were looking for, I'm guessing, but I know the calendar itself will turn out beautifully so I'll leave that to you and the photographers!
Do you still need pictures? I got some lovely ones from Japan and Madagascar. :)
