31 Bits is a community based organization, based out of Gulu, Uganda. We work with displaced women who use their talents to create beautiful jewelry made from recycled paper. 31 Bits is centered around using the creative art and entrepreneurship already present in the women, which empowers them and enables them to have a sustainable income. With a little bit of paper, you can share a whole lot of love!

Isn’t all of this stuff adorable?! If it wasn’t deeply wrong, I’d be tempted to announce that one “Sara Bon Vargen” won the whole lot. But that’s not very nice, now is it? Please do take a few minutes to stop by the online haunts that belong to these lovely and talented people and say hello.
To enter? Leave a comment (with your email address) telling us what your plans are for your next birthday! (I think mine will involve a cabin on a lake with my girlfriends. Or maybe a weekend in Chicago!) And if you’d like an extra entry, blog/tweet/facebook about the contest and link to that in your entry.
Best of luck!
