I would like to dedicate this video to my desperately attractive (but largely useless) British ex-boyfriend. When I first met him he told me I was "quite fit" and I was all "Uh, I don't really work out that much. I, um, walk everywhere but ..."
Later, we also had communication issues around the words "pissed," "biscuit," and "monogamy."
What song would you dedicate to an ex?

I would dedicate Lily Allen's "It's Not Fair" to my ex. Except that he didn't treat me all that fantastically. But he was spectacularly bad in bed.... "You're supposed to care but you never make me scream..."
Oh, the desperately attractive but totally useless British ex. Check. It's a pity such a gorgeous accent had to come out of such an enormous douchebag.
This song is hilarious!

O lol Sarah. It shouldn't be funny but you always make it so.
Early this year I dedicated 'Single Ladies' to my last relationship. After 7 years together marriage was the only thing missing for me. But it's ok. The boy I'm with now is awesome in different but as many ways :]
"Untouchable Face" by Ani DiFranco in those first few bitter days after breakup. I'll get back to you on more subtle ex songs...
Road to hell with Chris Rea (for a particularly horrible relationship where the breaking-up was the best thing I did)
I just have to praise the Streets. Sure I've had breakups, but who really cares in the face of their hilarious musicality?
My ex- not sure, but he was French and largely a douchebag. Not too much anger there though, more just an experience not to repeat :) He was a twat, but a likeable twat I guess.
For the one I shouldn't even have gone near-
Inaction by We Are Scientists
'Call on the fates, this'll take a second
While I fall on my face, like everyone else
And we can talk all we want, but all I can say is that
"I'm sorry, and I'm sorry, but I'm never gonna do it again"
Counting all my relevant friends
Well this keeps coming up again and again
If everybody knows how it's gonna end
Why doesn't someone stop me
Because I'm sick of waking up on your floor
For the 6th or 7th night in a row
I'm lying next to you in all of my clothes
Someone stop me?'
also I'd like to add, I nearly spat my wine everywhere when I read that last line :) You make me laugh.
Stars- Your Ex-Lover Is Dead
Amazing song and also an awesome video. It perfectly describes how I felt through many stages post break up.
got to be Gaga and bad romance, a spectacularly bad romance and break up and cause I was dating a guy at work the whole darn office knew about it (nowhere to run or hide). I did the 'sensible thing' and moved departments and he started dating my 'replacement' seems she replaced me in more ways than one does it? True story & all a bit 'the horror, the horror' . Sometimes men can be such IDIOTS!
vanessa da mata & ben harper's "boa sorte/good luck"
because there were no real words to explain how we felt, we just couldn't handle the relationship anymore and wished each other the best of luck!!
Mirah: Don't Die in Me
"All the time you felt so free, did you forget how much you once loved me?"
Not even kidding, I could have written this post about my British ex-boyfriend! Exact same experience...weird...
Emily!
Were his initials B.J.W. and he bore an uncanny resemblace to Brad Pitt? ;D
Oh MAN, I'd totally dedicate "Breakin' Up", by Rilo Kiley to an ex! It's basically the most amazing break up song ever, complete with a verse that is essentially " OOOH YEAAAH! FEELS GOOD TO BE FREE!"
Or anything by Lily Allen. Girl's got some ANGST.
Here's a little dictionary for you Americans:
Fit - Like hot. E.g "OMG he is SOOOO fit."
Pissed - Two meanings, either "Ugh, I'm so pissed off at him.." eg. annoyed. Or drunk, "Whoa, you should of seen him last night, he was sooooo pissed."
Biscuit - Cookie. But we call chocolate chip biscuits cookies, but the rest are just biscuits.
wait, is the sexy but useless British ex a milestone for everyone? I could say similar things too, except I don't know for sure. I think I may have been the lady on the side *shrug*
love that you share awesome new songs with us!
oh ridiculous :p
i would (and do) dedicate marina and the diamonds - "i am not a robot" to my ex
Kreesha Turner - Don't Call me Baby.
To the most recent ex who didn't want me until I had found someone else. And who STILL leave me alone. "Don't call me baby anymore"
(Also love the video where a bunch of friends bust in a get a broken hearted girl out of her funk with ice cream and a living room dance party!)

Kate Nash "Birds".
"right birds can fly so high
and they can shit on your head"
'nuff said ;)
