Friends! Are you enjoying the True Story series? I looooove it! Isn't it fascinating to hear people's stories? I feel like we're all making the world a bit smaller and more friendly when we learn about each other. I've still got a few great interviews queued for the coming weeks, but I'd love to get a few more in the bag.
So! I'd love to hear from you (or a friend of yours) if any of these fit you! All interviewees have the option to remain anonymous and, if not, I'm happy to link back to your blog/twitter/flickr.
I'm looking for someone who:
* auditioned for a reality show
* is living in America illegally
* is schizophrenic/bi polar (edited to add: interview in process)
* is a little person
* gave a baby up for adoption (edited to add: interview in process)
* was in prison
* is a genius (edited to add: interview in process)
* has Autism/Aspergers (edited to add: interview in process)
* is a long-haul truck driver
* is/was having an affair (edited to add: interview in process)
* is in an arranged marriage
* is a female bodybuilder
* is in a wheelchair
* had an arm or a leg amputated
* had (significant) plastic surgery (edited to add: interview in process)
* is psychic
* has Tourettes syndrome
* is independently wealthy
* was adopted and met their birth parents (edited to add: interview in process)
* was in the foster care system (edited to add: interview in process)
* is/was homeless
* is/was a Jehovah's Witness (edited to add: interview in process)
* is/was Mormon (edited to add: interview in process)
Is this you? Any other interviews you'd like to see?

God, I'd love to hear all of those stories, just imagine! :D
Let's see... I'm not a genius, but I was antecipated a year, meaning went to school a year before eveybody else because my parents thought I was way too smart. I went through shrinks and psychology schools, was tested for IQ and smartness in general - scored a 136, exclusive to 3% of the world's population - and here I am, 18 and finishing my first year in college. Majoring in Criminology.
Oh yeah, you could totally do an interview on that, most people still yell at us asking if we're studying to be the new Horatio Caine. :/
The wording has got me imagining someone with ALL of those traits, and I have to say that it's a rather strange image.
These stories all sound like they would be amazing! I hope you find the people you're looking for!
I wish I was independently wealthy! :) Working towards it though. What an intriguing list. I am a belly dancer, but I didn't see that on there. And I am certainly married to a genius, but he is too shy for an interview. Hope you get what you are looking for! I think we would all love to read them.
I am very excited for all these posts! Hope you find all the people you need :)
Ah, I'm looking forward to reading these stories.
I do not fit any of the descriptions but I have an idea for two other interviews: Native American and Mexican who came to the US through the desert (this could be combined with the interview on person living illegally in the US)
good luck,
Maria
UM... i have a bulldog named Tonka.
and... i've been a veggie since I was 12?
and... my boyfriend is 1foot and 1inch taller than me.
That's all I got....
I am MORMON! I would be happy to be interviewed by you :] Just let me know! Here is my info if you want to get a hold of me...

I WAS Mormon up until age 22, if you'd like to hear that side of things. =)

I have Bipolar Disorder, and I would be open to an interview at any time.
Since I've never commented on your blog, I'll take the time to do that now (sorry for the lurkage).
I love your blog. It has enriched my life with positive stories, good music, and inspirational messages that seem to come just at the right time. Thank you, Sarah Von, for the things you do and the things that you share.

(Best way to get a hold of me, you know, for a possible interview.)
I can't wait to read all of these stories!!!
I work in radio... that's about as cool as I get, lol.
Love this series. It's like "This American Life" (from NPR). Can't wait to see you put them up!
Hello!
I've been a lurker here for awhile, but am finally throwing away my veil and stepping out of the proverbial closet! Hi :) I am Bipolar. It always showed little signs growing up, but it wasn't fully showing up until I was about sixteen or seventeen. I would love to do an interview, because I think it's an illness with a stigma I'd like to break.

Hey, I was a Jehovah's Whitness up until I was 14, I am now 20. I would be happy to be interviewed!

I'm Mormon and would be interested in being interviewed, if you haven't already filled that slot. :)

I was tested as having an IQ of 158 when I was a child and went through the gifted education system in NZ (higher than 140 I believe is the requirement here). I'm sure there are people on here who scored even higher than me but if you need me to be your resident "Sheldon" let me know :)
I am a Mormon living in Canada. I'll answer any questions you have.
Email me: ours@hotmail.com
Hi guys! I'm already set for both the Mormon and the bi-polar interviews. But thanks so much for volunteering!
I'm technically (emphasis on that word) a genius because my IQ is 155+ but I don't know how "genius like" I am. Like, I don't solve cancer or anything exciting. But if you are interested, my email address is MoreMagicAlways@gmail.com
Oh, I also have another story that you might like that wasn't on the list- my grandfather was a Holocaust survivor, so if you're interested we could do some sort of interview with both of us- what it was like to survive the Holocaust and what it's like to be descended from someone who did. Just a thought.
i'm not any of those people.
how about true story: i'm a 14 year old girl
i'd love to be interviewed for that one!
I was a Jehova's Witness up until I was 16-17. I still attend some meetingss and my parents are very devoted to the religion.
I'd love to answer your questions. julieicelie@gmail.com
i love all these ideas! i'd really love to hear from more than one person - all of them are not necessary but i know you have a couple people volunteering right here for mormonism and bipolar disorder.
Hearing about multiple experiences would be very interesting, because everyone deals with these things differently.
You got a Mormon here who is married to a schizophrenic and has two children who are bi-polar and USED to be a genius until she had a major head injury and lost function in her right-brain and lives three miles from the Mexican border in Arizona and deals daily with illegals....
Well, take your pick,
I agree with Meliasaurus :] I have always wanted to be interviewed by someone! I hate to sound childish... but pick me, pick me!!
I definitely think it would be really cool if you got different perspectives on things. Cause there's always more than just two sides to a story ;]

SARAH! Listen up, I have THE best interview for you regarding a someone in the foster system.
His name is Pat, he's amazing. Wrote a one man show based on his experiences in foster care. You cannot miss this. He's one of my best friends and he will know about this interview series by tomorrow. Promise!!!
My email: ali.dubrow@gmail.com
Let's talk! :)
I'm curious as to what you mean by genius. Does passing the Mensa qualifications qualify you as a genius? If so, I would be happy to answer your questions :)

I am a Mormon who has lived in Utah since I was five. It seems like you already have a lot of people who have volunteered to be interviewed as Mormons, but I figured I'd put myself out there too :D If you're interested, I'd love to participate. My email is pikucha500@hotmail.com
I really enjoy your series! Hope lots of people volunteer to keep this going. I also emailed you with the topic I fit.
I'm adopted and was reunited with my entire birth FAMILY about a year ago (bio-mom, bio-dad, their siblings, a grandparent, a billion cousins...!)
I would love to talk to you about it. I was actually just thinking about tackling the story on my blog soon so maybe we can coordinate those posts. :)
Feel free to get in touch if you are interested. juliana.finch AT gmail DOT com.

I am thinking of doing this too in my blog but slightly different. Anyway, thx for the ideas.. =)
Maybe you might want to interview people who is a volunteer for certain organization?
I'm a mormon girl, born in massachusetts who made the pilgrimage to Utah when I was 18. I'm 21 and getting married next month. I'd love to talk about it.
I also would love to hear from someone in a polyamorous relationship. I don't often hear from others in my situation.
I'd be willing to talk about being bipolar.
I am having an affair and am also in a poly relationship. I'd be happy to be interviewed if I could remain anonymous (for obvious reasons). I sent you an email as well with my email address
how do i email you? i cant seem to locate your email,
Heather,
It's sarah_vonbargen@yahoo.com
I don't have Tourette's, but I do have epilepsy, if you're just looking for a chronic neurological disorder that is completely misunderstood and, y'know, affects your everyday life and stuff. ;)
sonja.engdahl@me.com
Or not, if you're specifically looking for Tourette's. Good luck! :)
Finding a homeless person might be a bit hard!
I was in the foster care system. I would love to do an interview with you. I'm friends with Ali Dubrow and she told me to contact you.
my email is patrick.burns13@gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you!
best,
Patrick
I too, am a MORMON GIRL :)
I bet you probably have a bunch of people jumping at the chance to be interviewed. But I'm available if you should need someone to ask about it. :)

My friend George was homeless for a couple of years, I'll see if he's interested in sharing.
If you're still looking for someone who's bi-polar to interview, I would love to talk to you. I live in Hinckley, MN. I am 41 years old, and was diagnosed as bi-polar at 35 after years of misdiagnoses. I was hospitalized once, and I hope I never am again! I have a few of the lovely tagalong disorders as well.
It might be interesting to have an interview with someone who was affected by having a bi-polar parent. I'd love to talk to you about my mother who had been diagnosed as bi-polar before I was born...just a thought
I love reading these stories! I actually had my leg amputated. I would be more than happy for you to interview me.
My email is: brlracincwgrl@gmail.com
i just came across your blog (galadarling.com linked the article you interviewed her for)
i think doing a truelife I'm a self injurer and not hiding it would be excellent. i live with scars and healed burns i have chosen to not conceal everyday and i'd love to read about someone who's living with the same difficulties and experiences
(or you can interview me haha)
k.a.scinto@gmail.com
*sorry for the username that came up when i commented, i tried to delete an old wordpress account and clearly it hasn't worked
I was actually homeless for three years, I'd love to get that story out of me~

I just emailed you Sarah, if you are still looking to interview a psychic I am happy to do it :)
athenaethony@gmail.com
Would you be interested in interviewing someone with a anxiety disorder with panic attacks. I'm also looking to raise awareness as to what it is like to live with this disorder. My email is brittanyervin86@yahoo.com
Hi!
I have followed your blog for god knows how long, but i've always been far to shy to comment.
I was just leaving this comment to say that if you need anymore interviews,
my best friend committed suicide, I suffer from severe social anxiety disorder and I grew up with an abusive father. Three things people usually love to ask questions about..
you can contact me at 038465@gmail.com
