omg i looooove the songin the background. and my favorite part is the three girls in long dresses doing the single ladies dance. haha jealous you get to go meet those people. :P
lol I posted this on my FB page last week. My friend from canada made a comment about little countries banding together (I am from New Zealand). I think a icelandic/NZ alliance would be AMAZING - If only they would change their legislation about whale hunting. Coincidently, Iceland is the one country I want to travel to SO BAD :)
I lived in Iceland for 13mos. and spent the better part of 4 years traveling back and forth between Iceland and the US. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you'd have.

Worth to check out (in my honest opinion): Sigur Ros, wich is a great band from Iceland. They have also brought out a dvd called Heima, where they show both the landscape of Iceland and shows from their heimatour, where they gave concerts in little villages and old fishfactories and all kinds of other great places.
My boyfriend spent some time in Iceland last year and always talks about it. He loved the country very much. And his Icelandic friend is coming to stay with us for a week at the end of June. Should be interesting! I'll have to pester him and see what it's really all about because I would love to see it myself.
Especially after watching this video. Absolutely amazing!
Yup. Iceland is *just* like that :-) OK, not so sure about the ladies in folk costumes rocking out, but it is a really beautiful place. And the food is awesome! We went a few years ago and did a short stopover on the way to Scotland and we'd love to get back there again. Thanks for sharing the fun video!
I've always wanted to go there too! It's top on my list! I love Emiliana Torrini (the song played) too- so much music and culture from such a small place :)
AHHH! Now I want to go to Iceland too! And listen to this song all day.
ReplyDeleteI just suggested going to Iceland to my husband, who responded "What about the ash cloud?"
He was not impressed when I pointed out how awesome it would be to see an active volcano. Sigh.

ReplyDeleteriiiiiiight? I want to go to there!
ReplyDeleteCool. House looks big enough for me too live there too. I'm 14, so you can legally adopt me, and we can eat Icelandic cheese. Good? Good. ;)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many reasons why Scandinavia in general is awesome.

ReplyDeleteI mentioned in my blog that I avoid watching posted videos immediately, so I just got to this today... and I'm ADDICTED. It's just so fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd does anyone else love Emiliana Torrini as much as I do? She has such a beautiful sound.
