If I love running on a *treadmill*, does that still count? :D I like pushing my self just that tenth of a mile faster, and when I get a good song on I can just zone out... It's meditative for me in a way running outside isn't.
I don't think you can run toward anything without running away from something else... whenever you choose a direction, you're always leaving something else behind. It's always going to be both.

So very appropriate and true! Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Very true thoughts for me right now! Thanks for sharing. Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Always (and love the visual)!
I'm new to your blog. A friend knows how much I love running and sent me your link.
The Avett Brothers have a similar lyric:
So when you run make sure you run
to something and not away from
cuz lies don't need an aeroplane
to chase you anywhere
Love the image!
great advice!
Very true, thanks for perking up my evening! xxx
I don't know, I like to envision myself outrunning heart disease and diabetes, also known as "the family curse".
oh gosh, that quote just hit me hard there. i'm kind of running away right now. :(
Great post.
I don't know where I'm running these days. Am I standing still? Can running towards something and running away from something be the same ?
Or run for a reason:

A quote from writer James Thurber that I always liked:
You must figure out before you die
what you're running from, what you're running to, and why.
Perfectly put. I think this should go up on my desk somewhere. Did you make this?
