The Look of Love

Love comes in all shapes and sizes, right? On this, a day full of hearts and hugs, let's remember all those we hold dear - our mums, besties, sisters, the co-worker who will cover your shift at a moment's notice and (let's be honest) our pets.

This will be a downer... I recently decided to end a relationship of over 4 years... I know this is suppose to be a happy post but for me and from what I have learned from a few of my contacts, they too won't be celebrating....I am happy for those who have been able to keep a relationship.... Its a first for me to have to make that decision to walk away... Yep, can u believe I never had a failed relationship in my 55 years?

I have never really celebrated a valentine's day properly or whatever that is supposed to mean. my husband is a chef...so while he is making sure everyone else's VDay is wonderful and romantic, I have been stuck celebrating it solo. Now, I do have my kids to sit and enjoy with; however, sometimes it not the same..
Anyhow, I do appreciate the sentiment of the day, but truly think that this day is about showing our love rather than giving it...I am making my kids their favorite dinner, we are going to the library for story time and then we are going to bake cookies!!!

hope you have a great day!!!

It's not just Valentine's Day! The Chinese New Year, Mother's Day here in Norway aaaand the whole carnival thing. So even if you're single, friendless and not talking to your parents you have lots of reasons to eat cupcakes/fortune cookies/buns filled with cream and make blanket forts and read nice books and celebrate.

Such lovely pictures!

This year I have two Valentines: my husband and my dog, Bailey. They both make me laugh and melt my heart.

I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, so I've just spent the past hour teaching a friend to bake cookies for his girlfriend over the internet. Good deed of the day!

V-day was my anniversary for 6 years. This would have been #7, but we parted ways several months ago. Now, for the first time EVER, I'm with someone on Valentine's Day who agrees that even though it's just a day on the calendar, it's FUN to go all out for the person you love. Even better, I'm in Vegas for work (MAGIC show setup) and normally would have no hope of celebrating... but he's here too. Looking forward to a surprise (to me) dinner excursion and some ridiculous, delightful shenanigans tonight.
Hope everyone here has fun and feels lovely no matter what the plan.

while i consider all my friends as valentines. the primary one is obviously my husband. 'celebration' of this day for me means he gets a card with a funny monkey on the front and a small stack of $0.50 old country records from the thrift store. wow, how romantic. ;)
