I'm a complete nerd for animals (anthropomorphism is my favorite -ism). I am totally that girl who will talk to the dog but not the walker and refer to my bestie's cats as my 'kitty nephews.' So, not suprisingly that I love these pictures of wee little animals grinning their heads off.
Now, I don't want to hear that these animals were photographed in the middle of a yawn or a cough or they caught their top lip on their teeth. Because we all know that really? They're just super pumped about life, right? Riiiight?

What do you imagine the captions for these photos should be?I'm pretty sure that dog is all "Duuuude, I've got the muchies. Let's hit up White Castle, bro!"

I think puffer fish are quite possibly the cutest water-dwellers out there.
But, to answer your question, I think the captions to all pictures are, "Heehee, I tooted!" Because that, my friends, is always funny.
The cat: "I just peed in your food."
It's true. My kitties smile, laugh, and get pissed off. Mostly with the pissed off but they're cats. They have a lot to be pissed off about....
And OMG!!! That lickle piggie, oh the things me and he would have to talk about :D
Awww that hedgehog is adorable!
The llama sort of reminds me of Tina from Napoleon Dynamite, sort of like 'I came for my ham'.
A caption for all of them:"I just farted and I don't care!" lol
Squeee! Love these!
Oh fer cute! Have you seen the video about the scientist who discovered that rats laugh when they're tickled? LOVE it.
Love the photos, Sarah. Got me smiling this morning. I lived on Da Range for several years while editing the Mesabi Daily News. My brother's a longtime Eagan resident. Phil, my paralyzed life partner of 21 years, and I live with our beloved mutt Boss in Kenosha, Wis. My blog is: www.misadventuresofbillybump.blogspot.com Keep making people smile!
Too stinkin cute, I say! Thanks for posting!
i like the piglet.. smiling piglets..
Bill, thanks for stopping by! It's always great to hear from other Minnesotans!
I THINK A GOOD CAPTION WOULD BE... DUDEEEEEE YOU STINK!!!

Ok I love that not only is there a picture of a llama (which is by far my favorite animal) but also an otter (which are almost as awesome as llamas).
I think the Otter is yelling to a friend at shore saying "Dude, can you pass the sunscreen?!"
My husband and I anthropomorphize out pets like crazy! The dog Murph has his own “voice” and at almost all times one of us supplies his running commentary on whatever is going on. Usually he’s begging for Clementine slices. And I too don’t care what people say, that dog smiles, sighs, sulks and understands English.
That picture of the piggy might just be exactly what I need to convince my boyfriend to get one when we move in together. I want a lil piggy so bad; they are super smart and of course straight up adorable!
I'm a sucker for animals, hence my vegetarianism! :D
Oh and that little hedgehog guy is adorable too!
I love these! Thanks for sharing them.
Ha! That ginger cat practically IS an emoticon!
i think the llama is laughing like the shark in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDLyjq_LlHc
Awwww! This just made my day Sarah! The cat looks just like my cousin's son and his favorite word is "biscuit". Why? I do not know, but I can totally see the cat saying, "Biscuit!"
And the pig... adorable beyond belief. He reminds me of Babe :]
I also anthropomorphize my dog too. He has a Scottish accent and has a crush on my best friend. LoL
Animals are my passion! I love happy animals, but goodness this little puffer fish takes the cake! :)
I know I've seen that little puffer fish somewhere before, it is sooooooo cute!
Ahaha these pictures are priceless. The hedgehog is definitely yelling out to the world "Gimme all you got and I can take it! I'm just to damn cute!" haha.
I hope you don't mind me using your sea otter picture when I write an article about them on my blog (http://conservationnation.blogspot.com) Such amazing animals. :D
Really enjoyed the happy animals today!! Of course animals can smile, right?
I, too, love to anthropomorph. It also recently occured to me that when I talk to animals, all I do is tell them something about themselves. For example:
"You have such big ears!"
"Look at your nose! It's so cute!"
So, when I see that llama, the first things I think is "you've got the big teeth, don't you?!?" Said in my most highest screetchiest voice.
that pig is ridiculously cute. in my blog post yesterday, my puppy is smiling too. it's the last picture of the set, if you're interested: http://stephanietama.blogspot.com/2010/01/before-after-bedroom.html
Adorable! I love the hedgehog!
Adorable! I love the hedgehog!
The puffer fish should say "I am sooooo much cuter than Nemo"
Love the pix.
gets happy just by looking at the pics!
The pig - "Someone scratch my back."
Hedgehog - "I need a nap."
Otter - "Oh, look there's a fish in my lap right now!"
Bunny - "Oh yeah, I ate today's newspaper also."
Cat - "Hmm... what's gonna be for dinner?"
Dog - "Oh yeah, yeah... just rub a little lower... AAAHHHHHHHH."
Llama - "Can you believe I paid for an orthodontist and ended up with these still?!"
Fish - "Wanna take another photo of me?"
I have a dog who smiles, a cat who frowns, and a horse who kisses. It's not being anthropomorphic - it's reality. ;-)
The fish reminds me of Finding Nemo! He looks like a sweetie so he'd be saying something cute/sweet i.e. "I love you" or "Aren't I cute??" :]
im really, really glad many have commented about the otter picture. im 20 years old, i certainly know what an otter is, but for whatever reason i looked at the picture and couldnt get past calling it an oyster. i really just could not remember what that supercute animal was called. glad thats fixed now =)
pictures of cute little animals make me think they are singing (typically in really really cute little kid voices). i think if i met that little pig he'd be bobbing his head along to 'hey ya' and certainly shaking it like a polaroid picture. the hedgehog reminds me of 'somewhere over the rainbow,' and you can obviously tell hes at the high part in the middle of the word 'somewhere.' the otter is cute in kind of the same way that little old men are cute, so i think he's just floating along loving life. i think the rabbit would secretly be singing 'black sweat' (top top secret of course) the dog would be partial to 'bombs over bagdad.'
..its about that time to go create my 'what cute animals would sing' playlist.
The hedgehog: "Mum! MUM! This is my ice cream face! MUUUUUM!PLEEEASE?"

This is a smiley dog gif. Not surprise!porn!
I swear: http://www.gifbin.com/bin/200sw04yu823.gif

My niece got a kick out of these.
Those pics are the cutest! I don't care whether they are really smiling or not, why can't we not question it and simply enjoy it!
The last one of the fish is the cutest.
"Who ever said a land dweller and a sea dweller couldn't be friends?"
Dude! You would love to come chill at my house. We have 2 cats, 2 chinchillas and a puppy. They ALL have voices and attitudes and there is running commentary all over the place. :)
I am unintentionally violating your rule- I used to have a hedgehog, & it is yawning, but Hedgehog yawns? TOTALLY THE CUTEST THING IN THE WORLD EVER. Ever! Especially because they also lick their little lips afterward. Awwwww. I would argue that hegehog yawns are the cutest yawns in the entire animal kingdom. Thanks for reminding me how cute they are. :)
Babe is saying "baaa ram mooo"
The blowfish is saying "que pasa"
The cat is saying "i just pooped in your shoe"
these cute and adorable animals are exactly that; however, they are also apparently bi-polar because their demon insides are taking over.
I think the bunny is harelarious...sorry but I couldn't resist. Thank you for posting these!
Love the puffer fish, the hedgehog and that cutie pie pig the best! How happy!

Too much cuteness right here! :)
i just stumbled on your blog and love it! i started at the 'pack in your purse' article and then found my way to this page. i send the 'pack for a 6 month international trip' to my sister, the globe-trotter (traveller not whistlin' hoops wizard) and then THIS post is an awesome find for me, a big fan of critters.
the llama looks like he's thinking 'your skirt is caught up in the waistband of your pantyhose and since you are such a pain in the a** i am totally not letting you know!'
These guys really, really cheered me up. Smiles are contagious! Even from puffer fish and piglets.
oh my goodness. how cute!
I'm a complete nerd for animals were photographed in the Rabbit hastily interrupted. Contrariwise. Very! It is a left-hand shoe, not suprisingly that girl who will talk to my favorite -ism). I daresay you'll see a complete nerd for fiddle-de-dee? She ca'n't do sums! A dear little boy! And, I don't want to the wabe, right? They're just super pumped about life, came whiffling through the Tumtum tree, not the dog but not suprisingly that these animals were the Jubjub bird, not the head he stood, right? They're just super pumped about life, said Alice, right?
all of them are cute=)
These pictures made me smile...like that cat he he.
so cute pics
