A Prize! For You!

Do you guys remember my amazing friend Laura? The one who started the handbag line Nelle with a Salvation Army sewing machine and a library book? The one whose bags have been featured in In Style and pops out to NYC for fashion week?

Yes, well. Not surprisingly, she continues to amaze. She's just added an accessories line to the Nelle family - gorgeous cummerbund belts! interesting bib necklaces! and look at that sweet be-ribboned headband up there! And because she's as lovely as she is impressive, Laura would like to give one of y'all a headband, and she'll even let you choose your own color combo. Navy and white for a bit of a nautical theme? Pink and gold if you're feeling romantic? Black on black with a pyrite center for a sweetly Gothic look?

If you'd like a chance at one of these gorgeous pieces, pop over to Nelle's website, check out the color options and leave a comment telling us what colors you'd like and what you'd wear it with. As for me? I'm wearing my navy-on-navy headband with jeans and a white button up. And with a sheer vintage tunic. And with my go-to navy travel dress. Really I'm wearing it so much I'm beginning to look a bit suspect.

Best of Luck!

Yum! Who am I to turn down the opportunity to win shiny hair pieces?

Her headbands (& her cummerbunds) are SO adorable. Too much so for my 7 a.m. mind to handle...

As for color combo? Navy & gold. I love the rich, yet unusual color pairing.... I can already imagine it in my wardrobe, as I wear it to work, to the store...

Wowser, these headbands are just delightful! I only have one headband in my repertoire and it certainly pales in comparison.
I would pick a navy and white combination for the nautical feel. Coming into summer here in Australia I need something sunny, fresh and lovely to go with flowy skirts and a lovely striped shirt.
Help me be fashionable :)

Oh, how beautiful! I love all the rich color combinations. It's hard to choose just one. I think I would pick cream and silver stone, for a neutral look with a hint of sweet color. I can imagine wearing it with jeans and sweaters, simple black dresses, or black leggings and a long white button-down shirt. A sort of Audrey Hepburn look.

Oh wow. I think I'd have to go with black and silverstone as my colours. I know that I could pair it with everything in my wardrobe then! Especially my new dark wash skinnys and a grey and burgundy cardi.

I am head over heels in love with her tuxedo clutches! wow

what a great giveaway! thanks.

Beautiful!

If I had to choose just one I think that I would have to have the black and silver stone. Mostly because everything in my closet this time of year is black...and that way I'd be assured that I could wear it everyday. ;)

Perfect for a retro-glam look this fall! I can see it on a cloche, brightening up a "practical" wool dress and thick-knit stockings. Possibly, it'd coordinate with one of those LOVELY cummerbund belts, but probably not--each piece alone is a showstopper. Perhaps a flora clutch instead.
But honestly, I'm thinking about NEXT fall. I can't avoid thinking about it at this point; I'm getting married, and sadly, that's the only party on my mind. A blush-and-cream headband would coordinate SO well with my vintage '60s cream-and-blush dress and would promote the pretty-yet-sassy vibe I hope to give off that day.
That said, I'm sure there would be no harm in my wearing it before then... the dress has been well-loved, after all...

I love the chartreuse, but I didn't see it for the headband. I think any of the mulit-colors would look amazing with my retro-LBD and huge hair.

hummm... Would pink/purple tie-dye and navy look too weird? They look lovely against each other on the colour chart! And other than that, for our Brazilian summer, the more colourful the merrier!!

I love Nelle's site and her handbags. My sister recently got married and the bride, myself and my mom used her clutches for the wedding-so adorable and we got several compliments!

I would love a headband in navy and gold-so classic!

I want to create my own combo and say olive & goldenrod together. Really, there's not a prettier combo, especially for fall. I have a beautiful brown swing jacket that I wear constantly during the fall that this would pair magnifico with. I've also been bringing a lot more of those two colors into my wardrobe, as well as teal. I have a teal LBD-esque dress that this would be fabu with. PLUS, I'm growing my hair out and it's in DESPERATE NEED of cute headbands.

These are gorgeous! I would choose the black and olive headband, and I would use it to add some girly flair to a skirt made from an old army shirt and a black long sleeved shirt.

Gorgeous :)
I am definitely a fan. She does a great job with the color combos and textures. Very classy. I am imagining being very lucky and winning and choosing a headband with greens, grays and creams...

Kelly - That's great! I was just over at her apt, helping her put together stuff for Fashion Week and oohing and aahhing over her clutches - if there's ever a wedding in my future, I'll be all over that business!

Gorgeous stuff! Love the cummberbund belt! My ideal headband would be the white on olive on black combo!

Everything in this shop is gorgeous!! I would pick a blush and cream colored bud. I would love to wear one of these headbands!

Ooooh, I would pick all tie-dye! I wear lots of denim/grey/black, so I try to make my accessories colorful. Everything is so pretty!

I'm loving the mustardy-gold color with black. I feel it could be dressed up or down—worn with a t-shirt and jeans and a scarf and some awesome flats, or worn with a slinky dress for a modern-day flapper kind of feel. Love it.

The black and olive combo is oh so dreamy! What wonderful designs she has! :)

I love these headbands, very nicely done Laura! I really like the gold color, probably with either black or cream?

Purple tie-dye + cream, worn with a black sweater & ruffly pantaloons with high boots.

Maybe it's the Cal Bears fan in me, maybe it's the art deco fan in me, but I positively lust after a goldenrod and navy one...

How cute! I'm not sure what it's called, but I'd love the one in picture numero dos on her site. I'd stick it on with my serious winter outfits - black skinnies, grey peacoat, etc. - for a touch of happy.

I would do a silverstone & blush combination...and wear it with an outfit that had mostly pink-nude tones with unexpected touches of metallic silver items. a blush pink dress and a metallic clutch + shoes, blush pink skirt with cream/beige top, lots of silver necklaces, and blush pink shoes...etc. jeez, her stuff is gorrrrgeous.

I actually LOVE the one pictured...the black and white and olive. I'd wear it with a mostly black outfit for a little pop of color.

Thank you for visiting my blog Sarah! Your blog is amazing!

I would totally wear a black on black headband with a black Metamorphosis jumper skirt for a Gothic Lolita ensemble! It looks so gorgeous!

olive and gold! or olive and cream and gold if i was allowed to have three colors. I would wear it with the eggplant colored floral corduroy skirt I just made, green tights, and a ruffly collared navy and white pinstriped buttondown

Ahh! Her stuff is adorable!

I'd probably go with blush + cream. If I was wearing it during the week, it would be to add some fun to my school uniform. Otherwise, I'd wear it with jeans and my sequined tank top (plus/minus a cardigan depending on the weather).

what a beautiful website! I'd love the black/white!

Those headbands are adorable!
I would love the black and goldenrod bud! I'd probably wear it with my light wash, wide leg jeans and a white tank and red tank. If it were cold, I'd wear my black peacoat over.

I love the idea of silverstone, silver and navy. I would wearit with my navy tunic and silver lacey skirt and some white glittery eye makeup!

Her items are gorgeous. A great combination of beauty, design and creativity.
If I were to order a headband (sadly, this college-student-to-be has no money to spare) I'd most likely order one in a combination of Cream, Olive and Gold. Suave, elegant and a bit funky.

I'm with you - naval all the way. we're in spring here in Australia about to head into summer. I think naval with maybe a nice sheer nude dress would be GORGEOUS!

Oh, how lovely! I am also a maker of headbands, and I love to see someone else doing such an original and gorgeous job. I started making them because I couldn't find what I wanted in stores, but if I'd seen these I might never have gotten going.

I'd wear one in blush and cream for a vintage look, paired with a swingy black sweater dress and a pair of tough but pretty lace-up boots, with some pattern-knit cream-colored tights in between.

cute!! I think I would choose navy on silverstone. and hmmm I'd wear it with My navy polka dot dress that I altered from Value village!

R. said...

Prettiness! I'd choose a violet/yellow-gold combo - to dress up all of the purple sundresses that I seem to have inexplicably accumulated this last winter in an impatient wait for summer frolicking.

Pink & Gold please! I love a soft romantic look! I have a lot of creme and gold vintage outfits, and I love pink accessories. So cute!

So lovely! I particularly love the clutches.

I would choose a black and silver stone combo and wear it when my usual tee and skirt isn't going to cut it and needs sprucing.

What a gorgeous range she has.

I'd go for the cream and blush combo, to look both romantic and poetic at my impending poetry reading.....I'm going for the Ophelia look :)

I would love to wear an olive and gold headband for a tree nymph-inspired ensemble. I'd pair it with a tiered/assymetrical skirt, an embroidered sleeveless top and light but sturdy ballet flats (for traipsing in the woods) in earth colors.

oh oh, the Garden Party Clutches are soo cute. The silver one looks fab - and lets be honest, I wouldn't wait for a silly ole party to use this bag. I'd wear it with jeans and a tank for Happy Hour. I'd toast to my loverly clutch!

BAM said...

I got all excited about the clutches after visiting her webpage, that I kinda blanked on the actual freebie.

I'd go with a silver stone & purple combination - it'll be a year-round accessory. They'd be great for dinners out with friends, when you want to step up the look a little. It'd look great with a simple black dress and maybe fun heels - purple anyone?

All her stuff is lovely, lovely, lovely! I could ogle it for hours! But I must get down to business!

Coour combo? Black and tie-dye, HANDS DOWN.
What to wear it with? (Besides absolutely everything, I mean...)
-straight-cut dark wash jeans and a black (or gray) t-shirt (or a red shirt, or a blue one, or maybe a white one...)
-bleached skinny jeans and a selection of t-shirts
-Black wrap dress
-vintage white lacy dress (with black heels, of course.)

Love love love these headbands!! Headbands have been my obsession the last year. I'm always on the lookout for awesome additions.

Color choice would be navy and gold (navy being the bigger bud and the gold being the smaller one). I'd wear it with so many things: Dark wash jeans and a white or brown shirt. Or my navy, gold, and white striped skirt with my crew neck white sweater. Would match my little gold flats perfect!!!

Hair would be worn down in soft curls or up in a messy bun to show off the headband!!

Navy and gold to to with all the shades of gray in my winter wardrobe.

I would go for cream and blush one.
I would definitely wear this with an a black dress... sleeved, v-neck cut, a-line waist.. very 50's. Blush shoes to match, with pearl earrings and a pearl necklace. Simple, and elegant.
*drooool*
I want to be wearing this outfit now, please.

Hmmmm I'm feeling.......lovely headband worn with my new long, wavy, extensiony hair...polkadot fitted bodice dress with the black bubble skirt.....patterned tights...Oh, and gumboots!!

Would you believe I don't own a single hairband? I'd go for an all gold one to go with all the autumnal colours my wardrobe has been amassing of late! Red sweater dress plus tan knee boots plus gold headband sounds perfect for this time of year.
