Do you guys remember when I nattered on about how every woman should have a set of photos taken professionally? To capture the hotness?
Luckily, I resisted my adolescent urge to get a set of Glamour Shots taken. Lucky also that I have a professional photographer friend who was looking to add some moody portraiture to her portfolio. Jill, of the fabulous tattoos and cupcakes, lit and photo shopped me into an unusually hot version of myself - what a fantastic present for my 30th birthday!
*Note: I do not look like this in real life. Most of my life is spent in chapstick and knitwear.

Wow! I like the first picture the best. Two years ago, for my 19th birthday, my mother booked a professional photoshoot for me. It was done in Bangladesh though, so I look over-made up in the old Bollywood style. It was still fun though! :)
hey, really fab pics... 1st one is simply too good!
I too want a professional photoshoot, but I don't have any photographer friend.... sad for me :(
The third photo is fantastic!
For the photos of my outfits on my blog I either abuse the self-timer or my brother takes them if he has time. He's a photography student, so semi-pro I'd say. :) I think it's very important to have photos of yourself in which you look stunning. So if I (or brother) didn't have photography capabilities, I think I'd consider having them done professionally.
For Christmas, oh about seven years ago, my sister and I had professional portraits taken of us for Mom for Christmas. They were done by Portrait Simple, which if you have one near you, I highly recommend. They are especially great with young children.
Last year, on a cruise, we met this fabulous photographer (one of the ship's), and me and my boyfriend and me and my BFF did photo shoots with him. We're all wearing black and/or white, so they are striking and really cool. Definitely great keepsakes of our vaca!

I like the first photo best. And only if a friend did it to be honest. Or a photographer that had larger women in his/her portfolio. Just because they can take fantastic images doesn't mean that can photograph a larger person and get their angles right. I've always noticed this with some professional photography, so i'm very picky hehe.

Rockin' idea. My 30th birthday is 2 years away and I just might have to try something like this.
these are great! the first one is my favourite.
i'm a photographer, but i've never had any professional photos taken of myself. (unless you count self-portraits... which i don't.)
i've thought about it... but i'm just wayyyy more comfortable being BEHIND the camera.
When I was 25, I got artistic nudes done. I thought I'd never look that good again, so I did it. I love them still.
One day I will get a large print of a couple and put them on my walls.
Good for you - these pics are awesome! :)
Meeeeow, Sarah Von!
Can I tell you how jealous I am? These pictures are fantastic! And so very YOU!
Thanks guys! It's really all a credit to Jill's lighting, photography and photo shopping talents. I felt a bit weird at first (I couldn't do the ANTM 'smile with your eyes') but I'm so, so glad I did it. Now I feel like I want a yearly photo shoot for every birthday!
I was randomly asked to model twice by two different professional photographers in my first few years in Seattle! Both shoots were very different- one was really fun and I was super comfortable and LOVED doing it, and the other one was sort of sketchy and weird and my discomfort definitely came through in the photos!
I'd love to do it again, but it definitely would have to be with the right person.
Wow, those are SO lovely! Good job on taking your own advice ;)

I'd do it, but I'm a photography student, so that might be why I feel that way. I really want to be able to give women exactly what you're talking about, hot pictures of themselves. And not that they even have to be sexy, but pictures that make each woman feel beautiful. I really pay attention to posing and what makes each woman look good because I want to know how to make any woman or even senior girl in high school who comes to me look their best.
One thing I think is really cool is when brides-to-be do boudoir shoots. Boudoir shoots don't have to be ridiculously naughty, they can range from showing shoulders to showing everything, and they're often paired with ordering a "little black book" full of the woman's favorite images. I'd love to do that someday as a gift to my new husband. It's something that would allow me to feel beautiful and sexy, and really, what guy is going to not enjoy his own book full of hot images of his wife?
I love photography- probally because I want to be a photographer!
The first one is my fave!
Photo #1 is so old hollywood glamour- lovz!
Oh man, Glamour Shots. My best friend and I had them done when we were 14 or 15 courtesy of the BF's mom. I need to post them somewhere. The world needs to see me looking like a "rodeo whore". (My exact words after my hair and makeup was done)
I love your photos! the 1st one and the 3rd rock!
Um, I love these! You are pretty and adorable rolled into one!
Well, you must at least have the same nice teeth in real life. Haha. Looks fabulous.
Hahaha! Thanks, Heidi Rose. There has been some rather extensive orthdontia in my past ;D
Gorgeous stuff! And doing the pics every year might not be a bad idea. Kind of like chronicling your awesome through the years.
Photo Number 1 looks like it should be in Vogue darling.
And all the pics are lovely. I love photography myself, but i think i would definitely have to get some pics done professionally too.

Wow! So beautiful. I really love the 1st followed by the 3rd.
OoOOooo I LOOVE them! You look like a real doll and I love the attitude too. I can't even choose a favourite :D
I've had photos taken before and I was so happy with them. They really do make you feel good and they are fun, you get to be the star for once. Hehehe. I think a lot of girls have had professional photos taken these days with the rise of social networking and blogging etc everyone is putting their (best looking) selves forward. I love it. x
Lovely. I never have, unless you count those guys who come into your elementary school.
Those photos are fab! That's a great birthday present for yourself and they came out wonderfully. Never gotten professional photos taken, but maybe one day...
Gorgeous pics. i had photos taken professionally too a couple of years ago, as a favour for my photographer friend who needed to build up his portfolio. i'm so glad i did it, everyone should have a professional photoshoot done.
All great photos~1st and 4th are my favorites!
The first picture is crazy gorgeous and the last picture makes me want to be best friends with you, haha. Looks like a dazzling old movie star portrait or something.
oooh, LOVE! I've always always always wanted to do a just-for-kicks photoshoot, but never had the occasion/money/handy photog friend to do it. Funny, I guess I've done a bunch of modeling, but none of it has been of ME exactly, more of the dresses or jeans or hair or whatever. Modeling just yourself is way less profitable (even if you're Gisele! you're still just being the body for the outfit.).
point is, yay, super fun! and happy birthdayish :)
Wow! You look amazing, and your friend has a great eye. :)
That's awesome! I love the first and the third pics especially! Ha, the only professional pics of me are my school pictures.
Happy 30th! ^^
Those are spectacular photos!
Sarah, you're so beautiful. And I love this as a gift idea!
These are so Grace Kelly-esque, I love them. The only professional photos I've really ever had taken were from when my mom dragged my 14 year old self to Sears so she could get pictures of me to send in Christmas cards that year. (I swear, she's much cooler than I'm making her sound right now.) I'm wearing a pink sweater and have poofy hair and braces and the picture is still plastered on refrigerators of relatives everywhere, the bane of my existence. Ask your friend to make me look awesome in pictures so I can finally end the curse.
I hope you don't mind that I've linked you, by the way.

I've never had photos taken of me professionally but I wish I had! These are *amazing* and you are gorgeous!
STUNNING!
You have the most beautiful lips!
Funny you should ask - I have had a few professional shoots, but no portraits! Tomorrow it is happening(!) and I'm nervous and excited. My photographer is super sweet so I'm sure it will be fun, but I'm going to be amazed if they turn out anywhere near as beautiful as yours.
These are fantastic! You are officially the fanciest lady I "know." The last one is my favorite - it is how I imagine you in real life. :)
You look gorgeous! I love the last photo!! This is a great idea...something to show off one day when we're old and wrinkly, LOL!
Absolutely. Fabulous.
