creditSo, we all know that I love me some lists. For the love of Pete, I'm a founding member of The Secret Society of List Addicts! I use lists to organize, plan and plot my take over of the world.
I don't, however, usually use them for the more snuggly, sweetly blurry parts of life. Lists seem to belong to the left side of my brain, all numbers and bullets points and logic. But there's no reason we can't harness the fun of list-making for more soft-focus purposes, right?
I've recently started making memory lists, especially after big events or epic voyages. This is especially fun if you can compile it with someone who went with you, passing the notebook back and forth between your airline tray tables. I like to aim for 100 memories, not only because I'm a sucker for round numbers, but also because you'll find yourself reaching for those lovely, often forgotten moments. And then three years later you can unearth this list and laugh over it.
I recently found one such list from my birthday trip to Australia a year and a half ago. I had totally forgotten about the pattern of shade on my friend's patio, eating tomato/avocado/cheddar sandwiches on my birthday and the lunar eclipse that I saw, standing outside Pizza Hut.
What other lists do you make?

This is such a good idea! I know when I came back from Japan, I had forgotten so many little things that only came back after discussing the trip with friends. It'd be nice to simply pull out a list and have a private reminisce or chuckle.
SO FUNNY!
dude. i'm not even joking: last night i made a "things i forgot i loved from age 9-14" list. weeeeird.
Fabulous idea! It's always the tiny moments that get lost.
Wow. This is a brilliant idea. I make lists with the left side of my brain as well - it will be nice to use my power for pleasure rather than productivity!
