Eskimo Chic

Minnesota's six months of snow call for a rather extensive cold-weather wardrobe so I was thrilled when I found this gem nestled hiding between two ratty parkas at my local Salvation Army. I imagine it is the perfect coat for picking lingonberries, riding caribou and gumming walrus fat. Which, coincidentally, is all we do around Minnesota during the winter.

Just kidding.

We also repair our igloos and ween our pet polar bears.

* Note the all-important butt-embroidery:

Awwww, you look adorable! Love, love, love your outfit! I'm actually well and truly overdue for some thrift shopping, I think - I haven't been in a while!

That coat is awesome! My mom had a similar one but before I was old enough to appreciate its awesomness she cut it into squares and made a blanket!

Your photo shoot is so perfect. Love the second pic!

ps: how much was it?

Lovely! I have a highly fur-lined Korean number (very National Geographic in appearance) I've been eager to wear this winter, though MD hasn't gotten quite cold enough yet.

Thanks guys!

Sal: I got it at the always treasure-filled Unidale Salvi on University and Dale in Frogtown.

Helene: Moooom! A quilt!? I think it was maybe $15? I got it seven years ago.

Anon: I *love* anything National Geographic in appearance! Lucky girl!
